Can I ask Tumblr users a question?

You all throw around posts and GIF sets of Rick Santorum, but how does that make you any better than him? 

He might be a moronic ass-hole who’s said some of the dumbest things i’ve ever heard, but guess what? He’s entitled to his opinion. Whether you believe it or not, he’s allowed to have those thoughts and opinions. He’s allowed to believe what he wants. 

And you degrading him for believing what he believes is no better than people degrading you because you believe in gay marriage. No ones beliefs should be discounted under any circumstances. 

Do I think a man like him should run America? Hell no. But do I shun him to hell for saying some stupid things? No. It’s his beliefs, not mine. I won’t vote for him, but i’m also not going to make fun of him and belittle him for his beliefs. 

I don’t think people shun him because they disagree with him, per say. They mainly shun him because his ideas haven’t got any backing. Like he IS wrong. He is legitimately wrong.

I’ve always said that people should never be shunned for things they cannot help, but people should be shunned for making the wrong decisions. Saying you can’t shun people for their beliefs is ridiculous, there are people in history who have had some utterly terrible beliefs and he’s just another one in the making. 

He honestly deserves to be made fun of for his outdated and harmful beliefs.
